Capturing Your Story Through the Lens

I'm a highly acclaimed British photographer, bringing a wealth of experience from a career that spans over three decades. Based in the South East, I work throughout the UK, specialising in photographing people of all ages, their loved ones, and all the cherished things they appreciate in life.

I'm truly passionate about what I do – connecting with people to creatively craft photographs that are unique to each individual. For me, it genuinely doesn't feel like a 'job.'.

The Art of Capturing Your Story

To me, it feels natural to connect with you, to capture moments in your life that evoke emotions to treasure forever. Life is a continuous story of fleeting moments, and I feel truly privileged to be able to photograph yours.

My experience allows me to shoot quickly, intuitively, and spontaneously. This means our time together is never dull or time-consuming. I focus on capturing candid expressions, the ever-changing natural light, and all the other subtle elements that contribute to your finished photograph. This leaves you free to simply enjoy the beauty of the end result – whether it's bespoke wall art to adorn your home, or a tailor-made book to grace the finest tables and bookshelves.

Education & Expertise

My journey in photography began at the tender age of 15, where I was educated in the art of photography through a three-year apprenticeship at a local portrait and commercial studio. This was in the days when a roll of film was loaded into cameras and processed in a darkroom—not Lightroom!

Fast forward 20 years, and in 1997, I proudly opened the doors to SMS Creative Photography, a leading high street portrait studio in Surrey, England. Over the decades, I've built a fantastic reputation as an expertly skilled photographer. I've had the privilege of capturing subjects with their families and friends, alongside treasured possessions, within personal collections, and in corporate environments. It really is all about... People – Identity – Lifestyle.

My Evolving Journey

My life as a photographer has indeed changed with the passing decades, much like the world around us. It's been a journey of constant evolution, adapting to new technologies, shifting trends, and the ever-present opportunity to connect with people and their stories.

From the darkroom days of film to the digital artistry of today, each decade has brought new ways to capture light and emotion. But through all these changes, the core passion remains: preserving moments that matter, creating visual legacies, and helping people cherish what's most important in their lives.

It's this continuous evolution that allows me to bring a fresh perspective and deep experience to every project, ensuring your story is captured with authenticity and timeless beauty.

In the summer of 2019, I transitioned from my high street studio to work remotely. I now trade as Stella Scordellis—with 'Stella' being a brand name of SMS Creative Photography Limited.

My greatest privilege is when clients return year after year to capture special moments and emotions and landmark times in their forever-evolving lives. I always look forward to welcoming you back—to work on new and fresh ideas and projects.

Diversity: A World of Experience

My diverse commissions have truly taken me far and wide on international assignments. From the grandeur of a World Cruise on the QE2, to capturing Boyzone and Cher opening the Harrods sales—back when that was a highlight on the Harrods calendar. I've worked with the infamous Jeremy Clarkson for an exclusive book on Ferrari, and photographed some of the world’s leading car events, including behind-the-scenes access at the British Grand Prix. I also work with individuals to capture intimate family gatherings and important landmarks in time to treasure forever.
